DIY: Summer Bobby Pins

This button that was attached to the clasp of the necklace

The ribbon from my Aritzia purchase

This gorgeous turquoise bead

My favorite: the red butterfly bead :)

Recently, one of my necklaces broke, leaving me with many interesting and cute beads. I was so sad when the necklace broke because it was one of my favorites, but I am so glad that I kept the beads, because these bobby pins I made out of them go with about everything! I simply cut off the extra metal with a pair of tweezers from each bead, then hot glue-gunned each bead onto a bobby pin! At first i was gluing the beads straight on, but after experimenting, I figured out that it works the best to slip a little piece of paper underneath the top part of the bobby pin, put a dab of glue on, then set the bead on top, pressing the paper against the underside of it. Another one that I made was the one with the ribbon that I wraped around the top part of the bobby pin while gluing it into place. I found the ribbon off a bag from my most recent Artizia purchase and I had nothing to do with the ribbon, but I thought it was just too cute to throw away-therefore using it to decorate my boring bobby pins. I think these pins were definitely the first of some summer crafts, so be prepared for other crafts that I accomplish while procrastinating on doing my summer reading and math packet :)

Eenie Meenie Minee Moe

Currently, I have been having trouble figuring out which necklace to wear because I have three that I completely love and it gets too hard to just choose one! However, they are all so different and might clash if piled on together, so I often find myself playing eenie meenie minee moe between my (from left to right) Chann Lu charm necklace, vintage pendant, and Urban Outfitters detailed locket in order to pick one. I love using them to dress up a plain tshirt with shorts or to dress down a flowy summer dress!

Glued to my feet

My first post! I have to admit, I am a bit nervous, but I am definitely excited to start blogging, especially since starting one has been on my "bucket list" for the longest time! I thought I would start with the pair of shoes that have been glued to my feet ever since I (finally) ordered them. My Steven by Steve Madden clogs! In my mind, the perfect pair of shoes for summer that can easily be transitioned into my fall wardrobe with a pair of boyfriend jeans or a cute skirt with tights, or even a pair of cute frilly ankle socks to vamp up the girly-ness.

My second pair of shoes that I just had to buy are these Nine West sandals. I haven't worn them out yet, but they had been on my "need" list, and I just couldn't take the pain of walking past the Nine West store knowing they weren't in my closet. So I finally gave in and bought them and now I'm as happy as a clam!
