YAY these videos make me so excited for summer hair!

4/20/11

Wednesday was a perfect day to dress the way I did. A perfect day to blast Kid Cudi in the car with all the windows down. And to dance like a fool and not have a single care. (not really anything new there since I LOVE to be silly).

Denim(squared)

I've always loved the look of denim on denim, but i've never been able to get the colors or cuts just right which resulted in clashing denim and just a big fashion no-no. I recently found this BP (Nordstroms) denim button down shirt (only $44 too!) and it is exactly the shirt I have always wanted...it is just perfect. Next trend I want to try is the denim top with colored denim jeans (like Whitney Port) and white denim on blue denim.

Maxi post.

*knotting the bottom of your maxi dress is the perfect way to keep it dragging on the floor...and it adds a little "pizzaz" to could-be-boring dresses.

Color block the rainbow

I love the idea of color blocking. It reminds me of being a little kid and wanting to incorporate every color of the rainbow in my daily outfit. I am SO happy that this trend is in, and I think it goes so well with the whole 70's glamour vibe for Spring 2011. H&M this spring has some new additions to the store and the blazer, shorts, and boxy dress (Austin Powers circa?) are perfect examples of color blocking. Jil Sander is basically the goddess of color blocking with her vibrant hues in the form of relaxed dresses or oversized coats. I LOVE the fact that every model is wearing bright pink lipstick as well, because that is one of my favorite accessories. Shoe-wise, Fendi and Pierre Hardy do a fabulous job this spring incorporating color blocking as well as the thick chunky heel trend into their sandals. Basically, heaven.

H&M:
this blazer with...
these pink shorts (ideally high waisted) and a simple white tshirt would be perfection.
