3.1 Phillip Lim Pre Fall 2011

Out of all the Pre-Fall 2011 runway shows, I think 3.1 put on the best show. Not only were the desgins minimalistic and simple, but they introduced fun colors that you would normally see in the spring or summer, such as bright orange. And the multiple orange on orange outfits liven up the simplicity without trying too hard. The layered looks were hit spot on and the knee high socks with the booties make the collection. Also, the collection is made of statement pieces as well as basic pieces that can easily be fit into any wardrobe as well as being worn on the daily. Oh, and I call dibs on the leather and blue belted dress.  Just saying.

Perfection

There is no other way of me putting this...I am COMPLETELY obsessed with Nicole Richie's wedding dress. The Marchesa gown with 100 yards of tulle is absolutely stunning and it fit her like a glove. So wish I could have seen that dress in person. And Joel Madden's purple velvet bow tie was a nice touch too.

Meet my photographer

It is most definitely about time I introduce you to my 7 year old sister, Claire, who is indeed my photographer. She deserves 100% credit for all my photos of my outfits. Although she is young, she is extremely talented and a great little photographer. She had a little photo-shoot of her own:

I dare you

to wear:

floor length velour dress

these spiked Louboutins

My absolute FAVORITE look!  A see-through lace shirt with only a bra on underneath (I am not kidding, you have to wear this or at least try this once) and if you are slightly worried about this look (I was at first too) you can pair it with a huge winter scarf or a chunky sweater to distract from your bra.

Cords on cords look like Heidi Klum

Gaga inspired bustier dress (right)

A dress with many many many holes in it

But most importantly, I dare you to wear whatever you feel like
whenever you feel like it, and to absolutely stay true to your style at all times. xxx

Who killed the poncho?

Ok, I'm pretty sure most of you will not agree with me, but I honestly wish ponchos were "in." I mean, really...how did they make their way out of the spot light? They are basically an oversized sweater without sleeves (that way you avoid the awkward bunching when you wear different shirts under one sweater). They are easy to wear, most of them come with hoods, and they can come in extremely adorable prints/patterns. Sure, there are some that are absolutely hideous, but others are very cute. The only bummer with ponchos is that I can't wear them with my backpack for school. Maybe I'll transition into a shoulder bag...

See? ponchos can be cute! Pair with a pair of skinny jeans and over
the knee boots or boyfriend jeans and ballet flats.

I love the zipper detail on this one and the one below as well:
